Manchester United had a torrid start to the
new campaign but after beating top teams like Tottenham and champions Manchester City in
the past few days, the Red Devils are back in the top four race. Solskjaer has got a quality squad at his disposal
but he still needs to improve the depth, especially in the attack after letting the likes of Lukaku
and Sanchez leave in the summer. The Old Trafford club have been linked with
Welsh international Gareth Bale for quite some time and the latest reports in Spain
suggest that Real Madrid are prepared to let him leave in the winter transfer window. According to El Desmarque, the Spanish club
are prepared to offer Bale and James Rodriguez to Manchester United to hire the services
of Paul Pogba in January. Our focus is on the former Tottenham star. Our record signing has been highly inconsistent
for us over the years and this season, he has mostly been out of action due to injury. So, I would not mind if Pogba is sold in the
January transfer window. As far as Bale is concerned, the 30-year-old
star is capable of winning games single-handedly but he is clearly past his best. Further, in the past few years, the speedy
attacker has spent a lot of time on the treatment table. Even in the current campaign, the veteran
playmaker has missed a lot of games due to injury and yesterday, he was absent from the
Los Blancos’ squad vs Espanyol due to a hamstring concern. So it is not surprising that the 13-time European
Champions want to get rid of a player, who is injury prone and costing them £350,000-a-week
(The Guardian). Talking about the positives, Bale is a proven
in the Premier League, he has won the PFA Player of the Year prize on two occasions. He has won 4 Champions League titles with
Real Madrid and scored decisive goals in the finals of 2014 and 2018 against Atletico Madrid
and Liverpool respectively. In your view, should United opt to sign Gareth
Bale in January?
