We will see some meal planning and pre prep that we can do so you have a hassle free week So the first step in any meal planning is to prepare a menu So do make a menu before you go for grocery shopping. It will help you shop quickly and you will know in advance what you will be cooking the next day. So the three sections in the menu are break fast , lunch and dinner. Breakfast is always something that is healthy and filling Lunch always consist of a dry vegetable along with indian bread also called as Roti. And dinner is light like a dal/ lentil soup/ curry with Rice or Roti. So the first thing that I always prepare is a Chutney. This is a green chutney ( cilantro chutney) that I am making. It goes well with lunch , breakfast even as a sandwich spread . I will use my grated potatoes as a filling for sandwiches or will make Aaloo Paratha which is an indian bread. Take the grated potatoes in a bowl and mix it with spices ( salt, coriander, cummin, onion , paprika) Next thing that I keep ready is grated cheese. I make sandwiches out of it by mixing all the spices or paratha. The next thing is Oats. I will roast my oats Roast them grind them and keep them in air tight container I will make oatmeal pancake by mixing buttermilk along with onions and spices. Foxnuts are a good option . They are very healthy. You can roast them and have them with milk Another good snack option is foxnuts , just roast them and keep them in airtight container Have them with a glass of milk. I chop my veggies on the weekend and keep them in fridge. This saves a lot of time Here I have green beans , Cabbage, Cauliflower, Okra, Fenugreek leaves I use my bell peppers as salad or in preparing things like noodles or fried rice. This a batter to make a south Indian dish called dosa You have to soak Urad dal ( lentil) and Rice in a ratio of 1:3 . Next day grind them Keep them in dark place for fermentation for good 8 hours until the batter rises You can make dosa( like pancake) and have with Sambhar ( veggie and lentil soup) Fill your pantry on weekend to save time on weekdays.
