M&S Quick Tip: How to Develop Big & Thick Traps w/ Johnnie O Jackson

I’m known for my traps more than any other body part so I’m gonna give you
two exercises that I think is pertinent to grow big thick and awesome traps like I
have you don’t want just the arms to be strong or the legs to be strong or your
chest to be strong you want your overall body to be strong the first one is sitting on a flat bench
using dumbbells okay you want to grab them you know sit straight up then you
want to take a slight angle forward okay as you take the angle forward you want
to take the dumbbells you want to push to your legs and then row back so push
forward row back push forward so it’s almost to your legs and to your hips legs to
your hips and that really concentrate on the rear and where the trap grows from
basically so a lot of people miss that when you’re just doing shoulder shrugs
they miss going behind or the back so with this row it tends to that you don’t want just the arms to be
strong or the legs to be strong or your chest to be strong you want your overall
body feeling strong and for your body to be able to other muscles will be able to
support you no muscles while you’re training as well it’s more important so
you’ll be able to balance yourself have that strength to balance and don’t
always have to use machines that you know you have help to balance the weight
for you you know everything is strong to where you can handle and you can control
yo your body and the weight that you’re lifting this one will be on the machine also do
this with a straight bar or a barbell you know as you can grab it put it
behind your back and there just bending your elbows
that’s all bending your elbows you know when you do shoulder shrugs they tell
you never to bend your elbows just say so what you know but this one you’re
bending your elbows to work those erectors and tracks like I said instead of doing the machine
you can always use barbell and grab it also behind and bend your elbows lift it
up over your butt lift it up over your butt just a little bit different
angle give you a little bit better spark see you next time

  3. Roids is the first step. Get off that gear and let’s see where you are at. Any of you ever seen the difference between mice who are injected with roids vs those who aren’t?

  4. U have more androgen receptors the higher up u are on ur body which means doing steroids can activate the receptors and make u have bigger traps

  5. These types of channels and videos are so misleading. This guy is obviously on steroids. His physique is totally unachievable as a natural lifter. How about you get some natural athletes for your videos?!

  6. Good exercise JJ…Yes, he's on roids BUT you can't get big if you just take roids. He would STILL have well developed traps if he was off roids. He ain't lazy.

  12. I don't know…..he was known for his traps, and his chest, and his back. You could tell he was strong, and dense, unlike today's bodybuilders.

  14. Deadlift using heavy weight with a prolonged pause at top. Framers Carries with heavy weight for distance. Power Cleans. Bigger and functional traps.

  15. Thanks for posting. I have never had much success with traditional shrugs, but these gave me some good results.

  16. My favorite exercise is farmers walks (or rack pulls if you have the equipment), I don't feel my traps that good with shrugs.

  18. Oh wow!! Just sitting here in my chair doing that first dumbbell exercise movement I can see this being effective for traps and the tip for bending the elbow's while doing reverse shrugs also. Thanks for the tips. Cheer's!!

  19. Thanks Johnnie, some interesting variations, I'll give them a shot to mix it up, I've hit a wall with dumbbell and barbells shrugs. Thanks for the video, much respects man, you can tell you've but that work in.
